Triana Castle is situated to the east of Roccalbegna, beginning as an antique country settlement during the medieval period.

In the year 1200 it was controlled by the Aldobrandeschi family who then surrended it to the Piccolomini family from Siena during the second half of the 1300.  They helped it to become the base of an important country noble during the 1500.

The Piccolomini family remained the owners of the Castle and the surrounding land until the second half of the 1900.  The antique medieval castle is closed in from the inside by a brick wall with only one entrance door:  the complex also includes a donjon (heavily fortified tower) which made up the nobles residential quarters and two buildings inside the castle walls and a courtyard.

The 1600 Cappella della Madonna di Loreto was the nobles chapel and is still in its original form after undergoing restoration during 1700.
